“Black” is the first single from Primal Roots.
Dark and melodic heavy metal, it’s the kind of song you’ll listen to again and again!
“Black was born with an acoustic guitar and the lyrics. We started working on it in the studio and it quickly became one of our favourites. After getting a great response to the song at our live shows we decided that this was the one we wanted to share first. We began recording at Made In Hell Studios soon after quarantine and David did an awesome job for us!”
‘Black’ was released on 10/09/20 and is available on the group’s bandcamp page on iTunes, Apple music, Spotify, Amazon music, Shazam, Deezer and Pandora.

Primal Roots are a metal band based in Athens, Greece.
Formed in 2019 they began creating music in a classic heavy metal style with hints of progressive, thrash, doom and nu calling their unique style ‘metal outside the box’.

“We met via a mutual passion for music, skulls and unicorns, started writing songs and the band was born.
Our style reflects different genres of metal which has merged into our own unique style and sound.
Primal Roots is more than just music, it’s an idea.
It’s the belief that music can change….. Change moods and minds, break the mould, set wheels in motion; music can inspire, motivate and teach, travel far and wide, stop you in your tracks or set you in motion.
It’s not just about cool riffs and catchy lyrics, (although that’s awesome and we love it too!) it’s a unification, a party, even an uprising!
We ourselves have all come from different parts of our world. We had very different beginnings but our musical path, perhaps even fate and a belief in all things mythical brought us together.
We love the Earth, our environment, animals and things that grow. We believe in humanity, the strength of positive energy and unicorns.
We aren’t going to stand on stage and preach, that’s somewhere in our music. We’re out to rock, play awesome music, party and have a damn good time!

Οι PRIMAL ROOTS αποτελούμαστε από τους Thomas Toivonen (SWE) leadguitar, Alejandro Lobato Ortiz (ESP) rhythm guitar, Amira Debaieb (TUN) Bass,Menelaos Laskaridis (GRE) Drums, και Rachel Cassar (ENG) vocals.
Η γνωριμία μας με τον πρώτο μας ντράμερ Marco Sarti (SWE) στην Αθήνα το2019 αλά και η αγάπη μας για την μουσική, ήταν η αφορμή για την δημιουργία τωνPrimal Roots.
Πολύ γρήγορα και με πάθος αρχίσαμε να γράφουμε τραγούδια και παίξαμε γιαπρώτη φορά στο Remedy Live Stage στις 20/09/19.
Τον Οκτώβριο του 19 γνωρίσαμε τον Μενέλαο που αντικατεστησε τον Marcos στατύμπανα, συνεχίζουμε να βγάζουμε δυνατά κομμάτια και κυκλοφωρησε το πρωτοσινγκλ 10/09/20.
Είμαστε Classic Heavy Metal μπάντα με πολλές νότες από progressive, thrash, alternative, death, melodic και nu metal! Δεν θέλουμε να βάλουμε ταυτότητα στη μουσική μας και έτσι λέμε ότι είμαστε ‘metaloutside the box’ (μεταλ έξω απ το κουτί!).
Οι μουσικές μας επιρροές προέρχονται από τα ταξίδια μας, τις χώρες μας και από πολλά μουσικά είδη (όχι μόνο μεταλ). Ο καθένας έχει το δικό του μουσικό γούστο και αυτό είναι η ομορφιά του, γιατί έτσι καταφέραμε να δημιουργήσουμε τον δικό μας ήχο και στυλ.
Τα λαϊβ μας είναι γεμάτα ενέργεια-δύναμη και εντυπωσιακά σόου και αυτό φαίνεται από την αρχή μέχρι το τέλος! Μέσα σε αυτό το μικρο χρονικό διάστημα της μουσικής συνύπαρξης ένα επιτευγμαμας είναι ότι έχουμε καταφέρει να φτάσουμε στον ημιτελικό του διαγωνισμού του Metal Hammer στο Remedy.
Το ‘ποιητικό’ βερσιον… «Συναντηθήκαμε με αμοιβαίο πάθος για μουσική, κρανία και μονόκερους, ξεκινήσαμε να γράφουμε τραγούδια και γεννήθηκε το συγκρότημα.
Το στυλ μας αντικατοπτρίζει διαφορετικά είδη μετάλλων που έχουν ενταχθείστο δικό μας μοναδικό στυλκαι ήχο.
Primal Roots είναι κάτι περισσότερο από μουσική, είναι μια ιδέα. Είναι η πεποίθηση ότι η μουσική μπορεί να αλλάξει…. Να αλλάξει τη διάθεσηκαι το μυαλό, να σπάσει το καλούπι, να θέσει τροχούς σε κίνηση.
Η μουσική μπορεί να εμπνεύσει, να παρακινήσει και να διδάξει, να ταξιδέψει πολύμακριά, να σας σταματήσει στα ίχνη σας ή να σας κάνει να κινηθείτε.
Δεν πρόκειται μόνο για δροσερά riff και πιασάρικους στίχους (αν και αυτό είναιφοβερό και μας αρέσει επίσης!)
Είναι μια ενοποίηση, ένα πάρτι, ακόμη και μια εξέγερση! Όλοι εμείς έχουμε προέλθει από διαφορετικά μέρη του κόσμου μας. Είχαμε πολύ διαφορετικές αρχές, αλλά το μουσικό μας μονοπάτι, ίσως και η μοίρα και η πίστη σε όλα τα πράγματα μυθικά μας ένωσαν.
Αγαπάμε τη Γη, το περιβάλλον μας, τα ζώα καιτα πράγματα πουμεγαλώνουν. Πιστεύουμε στην ανθρωπότητα, τη δύναμη της θετικής ενέργειαςκαι τους μονόκερους. Δεν πρόκειται να σταθούμε στη σκηνή και να κηρύξουμε, αυτό είναι κάπουστη μουσική μας. Βγαίνουμε να ροκάρουμε, να παίξουμε υπέροχη μουσική,ναγίνει πάρτι και να περνάμε όλοι καλά!
