My Missing Piece
In search of love in this big world
I never could find my missing piece;
The part that brought true happiness
But then came a day that I stopped looking
never thinking that I deserved it
I prayed everyday for that missing piece
that would finally complete this empty heart
I can see you in my dreams when I sleep
I can even feel you touch my cheek
But, when I wake, you disappear once again
Perhaps one day you will find me instead
so I won’t have to wait each night just to meet you.

The Heart Needs No Pen and Paper
You are there and I am here
We write to each other everyday
It’s second nature now to pick up my pen
but today no new words come to me
I know my heartbeat leads to you
And no doubt that yours beats for me too
Sometimes we need not even speak at all
For what is in the heart needs no lines
It beats without effort as does our love
But you’re still in my every thought
And when I wake, I know you are still mine
If I get no letter from you today, I do not fret
For a letter can’t take the place of what is in your heart
And what is in your heart needs no pen or paper
I can always feel your love, regardless… And I smile.

Nowhere
Your voice often haunts me when I sleep
I wake up only to realize that you aren’t here
Can two people live life in their daydreams?
The reality of life now falls on us both
Like a storm that displaces us from each other
Our happiness seems lost at the moment
as you ask me where you should go without me
Storms come, and then rainbows follow thereafter.
So where should you go without me?
Nowhere…
