Magic Wand in My Hand By Hillol Ray
If, by chance, I had a magic wand in my nifty hand,
Paradise will be my home, and wishes will swing-
On the breast feathers of the nightingales,
With vaulted veils of their heavenly wing!
I will feel like a king of this blue planet Earth,
And you, my sweetheart, will be the queen-
My magic wand will make highways traffic free,
And the byways will soon act like a Siamese twin!
Oceans will be made squeaky clean, surely pollution free,
And Ozone won’t cause headache with Compliance Rule-
EPA Director will be relieved from budget crisis annually,
And the Climate Change will play as the Politicians’ tool!
Superfund sites will be cleaned on time overnight,
And the Brownfields will become the rural hamlet-
With a swing of the magic wand, I will clasp my hands,
To start the rock-n-roll well ahead of the copper sunset!
Magic wand will be the conductor of the wind- flow,
And sea-arms will thread our midlands by and by-
While the foresters in caravans will rush into town,
And the pedlars with travelers will stare at the sky!
Some changes like these I will love to see sooner,
And other issues in our dreams we will later decide-
As soon as I sit on the throne of the starry paradise,
And you, my sweetheart, will be crowned at my side!!
