Nek Chand. the creator of Rock Garden*
Was an apocalyptic man,
Who showed how thrown-aways
Can be recycled to give powerful messages.
Thrown-aways by this world
Are the broken pieces of bangles
Torn papers, broken cups and plates
And broken hearts too.
I tried to recycle some broken dreams
Weeping at the exit of discotheques
Or in the court rooms where
Dreams clash with reality.
I have a vision which often disturbs me
That God only gave us this earth
A few animals and some trees
Things multiplied thereafter
This world was nothing but
Some discarded dream of angels
The real world they had created
Was Lanka, Inderprastha and Dwarka.
They saw the quality of men falling
And faith disintegrating
And when gods withdrew
Men used brains to supplement the loss
This beautiful wonderful grand world
Is the creation of
Human brain
Man at last made peace with his exile.
Animals realize but we do not,
That our world is created
From recycled materials and
That we are living on leftovers of angels.
