Joyful spring arrival
Spring returns, the cycle begins anew,
Grasses, flowers, and leaves burst forth in verdant splendor.
Warmth and purity in the air as spring arrives,
Birds joyfully sing, gliding on the branches like lovebirds.
Tet is joyful across every homeland
On New Year’s Eve, lights illuminate our house grandly.
The feast is prepared and ready
Cold cooked-meat and pickled mustard greens, green square sticky rice cakes.
Red envelopes folded and ready
Floral dresses, violet shirts, green attire, and pink pants.
Parents eagerly await
Children prepare to go to the fields welcoming our grandfather.
Fragrance of blossoms fills the countryside
During the three days of Tet, inviting our grandfather into our home.
Grandparents reside comfortably at home
Bringing luck to everything inside.
Our children excel in both math and literature
Family businesses thrive, having good luck and peace.
The young ones happily follow their elder siblings
Wishing everyone in the village a happy Tet.
Wishes for siblings and relatives
Celebrations for the elders with much applause.
May the elders find joy in their age
Grandchildren proudly receive golden certificates.
Every household experiences happiness and peace
Commerce and production flourish to make a high ranked business.
This spring and many springs that passed
May prosperity and wealth continue as the eternal spring.

I return to your hometown leisurely,
Splendid Saigon, going out from dawn till dusk.
In Soc Trang, Dong Thap, gracefully wandering
Long An, Binh Phuoc, Ninh Kieu Can Tho.
Dreamy Vung Tau, Ba Ria
Binh Duong, Can Gio port is working. (1)
Bac Lieu, where guests eagerly await,
In Cong Tu’s home, is there still a saying from the past?
Burning money to boil eggs under the moon
Capturing tourists’ attention with attractions.
Vinh Long, guests visit with delight,
Tay Ninh, renowned for watching its herd of calves.
Ben Tre, poetry from the coconut trees growing from water

Wide roads leading to the South

Temples, pagodas, statues of the Saint, the clouds anchoring to people’s hearts.
Hoa Thanh, oh the homeland of my friend
Ninh Son forever echoes with brilliant ancient sayings.
Thien Huong, Si Triet, as if today (1)
A beautiful love forever in the rose garden.
Tay Son, Si Triet, won many battles (2)
Defeating cruel invaders with unwavering determination.
Thien Huong upholds righteousness
Awaiting the noble one to vanquish the enemy.
Ascending the temple, the lullabies illuminate endlessly
Conquering a horde of bandits destroying her beauty..

(2) Si Triet joined Tay Son in fighting against invaders.
Thien Huong prayed daily at the mountain temple for Si Triet’s safe return. However, she was besieged by bandits seeking to harm her. In order to maintain her faithful love, she jumped into the stream and sacrificed herself. Heaven and Earth pitied her and performed miracles to transform her into a Saint. Today, she is known as the Black Lady Saint.

Tu Son, the ancestral land, imprinting its name in ocean and soil.
Ly Cong Uan, a noble king
Thang Long, ten thousand years of royal history flowing verdantly.
Thai Tong, a virtuous and brilliant king
Thanh Tong reigning for eighteen continuous years.
Nhan Tong, an emperor shining bright
Thanh Tong, illuminating the land of Vietnam.
The officials in Literature and Martial Arts across our country
Anh Tong, a wise king for forty – seven years
Cao Tong taught great things to the people
Diligently caring for the citizens, brightening the heavenly reign.
Hue Tong upheld the Buddha’s teachings
Passing the throne to preserve the strength of the nation.

(1) Ly Chieu Hoang was considered weak by the internal faction of the Ly family, allowing the Tran family to seize the throne. However, history suggests that the Ly Dynasty was weakening, and a peaceful transition to the Tran Dynasty was beneficial for the people, preventing chaos and disorder. Ly Chieu Hoang married into the Tran family so she was not worshiped at the Do temple.
(2) The Ly Dynasty ruled and maintained the country for 216 years.
