Short Bio of author, Concetta La Placa Country: Italy
Concetta La Placa is an Italian poet, writer and aphorist.
Born in Sicily, she has lived in Rome since 2006. She is married, mother of two children and grandmother of three grandchildren.
She worked as a teacher at L.U.M.S.A. University in Rome, decentralised teaching in Caltanissetta, and then as a ministerial official in the Social Policies sector (Childhood and Adolescence and the Fight against Poverty) of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies.
She started writing and composing poetry at the age of 15
She is an ambassador of the IFCH (International Forum for Creativity and Humanity) Kingdom of Morocco, Reg No. 43/2018 Fnaydeck of Morocco.
She is a member of OPA, Writers Capital International, Azhaar, Pentasi.
Her poems and short stories are published in numerous print and e-book anthologies by various contemporary authors, as well as in magazines, both print and online from all over the world (India, Egypt, Brazil, Argentina, United States, Spain, Nepal, etc.Arab countries).

– 2021 first publication, entitled: “Cosmic Love and Emotions in the Wind” (with International No. 6), a collection of fifty-four poems, published by the “Munir Mezyed Foundation for the Arts and Culture of Romania”.
– 2022 : “Tracimi Del Cuore”, a collection of seven poems published by the “Pagine” publishing house in Rome.
-2023: ‘Emozioni Fluttuanti’, collection of fifteen poems published by the Vitale publishing house in Sanremo.
-2024: “Emozioni, Amore, Ricordi In Sicilia In Versi”, collection of fifteen poems published by Vitale in Sanremo.
– 2024: ‘Versi Di Pace, D’amore, Di Fede E Di Liberta’, “Un Efficace Antidoto Contro Tutte Le Guerre”, poetic booklet of fifteen poems published by Vitale Publishing House in Sanremo.

A NEW DAY IN KABUL
Dawn peeps out
and a new day knocks
on the horizon.
Now Kabul
is bathed in silence
and the women’s grief.
Faint rays caress
those covered faces
and illuminate their gazes to shine their hearts full of anguish and pain.
A new day dies,
leaving in them traces of an inner strength that never yields
and the hope of a better future,
as the redemption of their freedom.
