The Il Canto di Dafne award also recognizes the excellence of her work Al espejo del tiempo, recently translated into Italian by the poet and academic Stefania Di Leo. This book, whose lyrical sensitivity and philosophical depth have resonated widely, includes emblematic poems such as Único día, in which Saavedra reflects on the human condition, the fight against oblivion and the encounter with freedom:
To be able to say that one matters,
that the light passes through the hardened fist,
the fight in aridity or in the omen.
To say that winter serves me as madness,
that the earthly instinct collapses me
because of the speed of the movement
in which I enclose myself.

I retain here the only day
without anyone confirming the infinite for me.

Requiem to the beast of oblivion.
Beatriz Saavedra Gastélum reaffirms herself as an essential voice of contemporary poetry, proudly bringing the richness of Mexican literature to international stages. This new recognition is a celebration of her career and an open door to continue exploring her literary universe, where the word and the spirit intertwine in a constant search for the transcendent.
