God And Mother

I was teaching my five year old,

When he started asking questions, bold.

“Mother dear, it’s still not clear,

Who runs this world?

Who is God?

Who made these lovely trees and birds?”

I smiled at his innocence,

And looked at his face that was intense.

I told him,”God is the one ,

Behind every thing, my darling son!

God is a Force, a power true,

Remember, when you are sick, he looks after you.

He gives you your daily bread,

And puts a balm on your aching head.

He makes you smile when you feel low,

He takes away the frowns from over your brows.

He feeds you, whenever you are hungry,

At your little mistakes he is never angry”.

My little lad seemed annoyed,

His confused state, he made no efforts to hide,

He questioned me in a commanding tone,

“What is this you are telling your son?

Wasn’t my question very clear?

Or is it that you did not hear?

Is it not very odd?

That you are telling me about yourself,

When I ask you about God?”
