Brief Biography: Dr. Shailesh Gupta Veer He is a poet, critic, reviewer, editor and multi-prize winner. He is bilingual and writes in English & Hindi. His literary works are characterized by a high degree of creativity and authenticity. He has edited about two dozen literary books and several magazines. His poetry has been published in various literary National and International magazines, journals, anthologies and websites. He has won many awards in the field of literature. His poems have been translated into Chinese, Greek, German, French, Azerbaijani, Arabic, Italian, Serbian, Croatian, Portuguese, Nepali, Punjabi & some other languages. He is the editor of Micropoetry Cosmos and the associate editor of The Voice of Creative Research. He was declared a Literary Icon in December 2018 by the TV program ‘You and Literature Today’ from Nigeria. His poems were read on The Dear John Show of Warrington, England. He is an inspiration for budding poets. He is Ph.D. in Archaeology and is currently working as a Government Teacher.

Between Two Thrilling Moments

A moment,
Felt that –
Got everything!

Another moment,
Felt that –
Lost everything!

Between these two thrilling moments,
The journey is –
From egoism to meekness,
From excitation to calmness,
From inattentiveness to contemplation,
From suspension to meditation,
From paralogism to truth,
From illusion to sooth.

For centuries
In making
A human being to a good human being,
This journey has faithfully done its work,
This sequence will continue even further.

[The poem is influenced by the life of the great Indian emperor of the Maurya Dynasty, Ashoka the Great, who ruled almost all of the Indian subcontinent from c. 268 to 232 BCE]

I Try to Find You Again

When you say –
“I sacrifice my needs for your needs.”

When you say –
“I will put my work aside for your work.”

When you say –
“I will leave all my dreams for you,
You are my first priority.”

Then –
My heart starts beating very fast
and you come closer to me.

Then –
I can see my picture in your eyes,
In your soft smile, I cherish dreams of blissful hopes.

Then –
I feel the fragrance of my name in your breath,
and the movement of the world in each of my beats.

Between moments of “When you say” and “Then” –
Thousands of roses bloom,
Birds travel a long distance from one end to another,
Sun and clouds play a game of hide and seek,
Cold winds begin to run after strong humidity,
Day and night come in turn,
Knowing that now you will never come back,
I still try to hold your hand while walking along the seashore.

Seeing me in this situation, the ocean waves become more fickle,
and I gaze at the infinite sky
there countless stars are spreading their aura,
I know very well that
You are one of these stars
I try to find you again with all my heart
Morning starts again
Completely get wet,
The dew drops, my sweat and my tears merge together!

Rain/Rain/Rain
Wish that
The rain would be whole life
Like today
And you
Always keep imprisoning me
In your arms
I’m too much in your charms
Yes dear, the life will be new
All dreams will be come true!

Raining/Raining
It’s constantly raining
In my mind too!!

I Can’t Explain

She is very cute and beautiful
Sensitive too
When she speaks
Feels like-
Any Nightingale is singing a song,
Then
My Heartbeat becomes faster
Her smiling face attracts me!

She is much older than me
I know very well,
But it’s her internal glow…
Makes me more romantic!!

Yes, She is very pretty
For me,
Like red rose
Like spring
Like nature
Like…I can’t explain…!!!
