Hi! We are Blax from Italy. We are a band/family who play hard gothic rock!
When did you start as a band?
Our adventure started in March 2020 when our singer and songwriter.
Giampaolo Polidoro, alias Blax, started to collaborate with our guitarist Marco Fanella, alias Hektor, for the recording of the first demotape which later became the music you can listen through our album “Meravilia” recorded during 2021. The BLAX project became a family in 2022 when the drummer Massimiliamo Bergo (alias Argex), the bass player Giulia Balestrieri (alias Katla), and the guitarist Emil Dellantonio (alias Hexen) joined the band.
What is your first musical memory?
It was the vinyl of Helloween “Live in the U.K.” and “Fear of the dark” by Iron Maiden, when I was 11.
Who are the members of the band?
Starting from the fact that BLAX band represents a family where every musician is a member of it with a specific role, we have the family landlord Blax, followed by his trusted butler Hektor, his gardener Argex, the custodian Hexen and the housekeeper Katla.
Describe to us your career in music to date. Were there any decisive positive or negative influences?
Music is for me the principal way to express myself, there was and there is still a negative influence given by the music environment especially in Italy where people seem to be not interested anymore in new music, but this has not influenced me so much, in fact we are going straight with our project.
Are you scared by success or failure?
No, I’m just determined to bring to people around the world my music project.
Tell us a few words about your latest release.
Starting from the fact that BLAX band represents a family where every musician is a member of it with a specific role, “Meravilia” represents the place where this family live, as you can image from the album cover. Our album is thought as a concept album as the songs are meant to tell the stories around BLAX family, so a central narrative is present in the album.
Who edits the lyrics and music?
Every song of the first album “Meravilia“ was born from our singer Giampaolo (Blax) and then developed together with the guitarist Marco (Hektor).
What are your future music plans?
We are working on the new album. Very excited about Touring and playing live around the world.
